Next Pair of Journal Pages and Magnolias

I just can't believe how I manage to surround myself with so much "stuff" whilst I make these journal pages. At times I think I barely leave myself enough room to work on my current piece - there are bits and pieces of fabric, braid, lace, brocades, mohair, cottons, batting, buttons, and the list goes on! EVERYWHERE!!! Where does it all come from? It covers my work table, my ironing board, the desk where I am sewing - it's on the floor. Then the next thing I find myself sitting down on the floor with my my old vanity and mirrored vanity case (where I have stored all my gorgeous cotton laces) resorting, rewinding and reorganizing everything.
Anyway - here we have another pair of journal pages which are happy to share a similar theme. I hope you like them!
With the beginning of Spring some of the first things we see are these beautiful Magnolias. A pink one in the foreground and a White Star Magnolia behind that, and in the rear is a Crab Apple almost in full pink blossom.I
That Star Magnolia is truely fragrant! I wish I could share this perfume with you!!!

  4. For some reason I can't seem to get past one sentence here without being blocked, so will continue without a stop.... mmm Yes Spring is in the air, I have a very young Wisteria which is just looking beautiful. I'll give it another week or two then take a pic.

  5. Such a busy schedule this week. So I pop over to visit Suzy for some soothing and relaxing pictures. Painted Sky made me stop and become calm again and then all the wonderful pages to see. Like an instant visit to a spa.

  9. Isn't mess the route to creativity? It would sure seem so from looking at my work area! Your pages are gorgeous, and I love the magnolias. Wish I could grow them here, but it's too cold, so I shall just have to enjoy them through your photos. Thank you.

  10. Your journal pages are so saturated with colour - wonderful!!! And, I know what you mean about working surrounded by bits and pieces because it's exactly the way I work too. I get to the point where I only have about six inches of working space left on my worktable and then something clicks in and I *have* to clean up. Each and every time I swear I'm going to be more organized with the next project. Well, you know what that does!!

  11. You have all been so kind with your lovely comments - Thanks to you all! Well, knowing that everyone else suffers from the "hemmed in by art materials" syndrome I shall continue to keep my pathway open to creativity even if it is only a few inches wide knowing that this the wonderful way we excite our senses and fulfil our passions!

  12. I think magnolia's are my favourite tree of all,we had a small white one but the snow killed it last winter. I love the deep pink ones ,we are going to plant one here in a couple of weeks. I love your new journal page and wonder what ours lives would be like without our passions and the luck I feel I have that I can follow them.
