Here I am today creating with the colour purple ...again! Some say purple is the colour of Kings, others say it is the colour of confusion but for me it feels like the colour of balance. It is the colour that happens when the energy cools and things become clear. For me it is the colour of CALMNESS.
An afternoon view from my studio window in the late afternoon of Autumn looking up the paddock.
The quilt is progressing well! I spent last evening using the slow cloth method to quilt the large middle section of the quilt and I am now using free-machine quilting to quilt the outer part. I am hoping the end result will be complementary. I have yet to name it!
I made this quilt top about 18months ago and I thought it was time I should get it out and start the job of backing, pinning and quilting. The colours are inspiring me onward! Next time you see it hopefully it will be finished!
Today I managed to finish the quilting on this small piece of fibre artwork.
It is a composition based on crazy quilting and incorporating dyed silk, multicoloured wooltops, gold braid as well as antique Indian braid and defined with a gold thread.
The wool was felted onto the silk by a felting machine and then overquilted with an ornamental stitch by machine.
It is yet to be completed with tabs for hanging.
