Paper and Fabric Dolls

You know I never saw myself as a "dollmaker"
and
this will probably be as close as I shall ever get
to making dolls but after seeing how easily Lilla
made these magnificent little
creations - well I just
thought I might like to try them!

This was my very first attempt and

I have to admit I did really enjoy making these

Could it perhaps be that I am so addicted to
creating with gorgeous fabrics and lace!
(well perhaps just a little!!!)
but I also did have the perfect excuse as
I thought it would make a perfect Christmas gift for my
grand daughter, Layla, who by the way

just happens to love fairies, glitter, lace and fabric too!
Funny that!!!!!!!!

I do think there will probably be enough in this little
creation to please her don't you think?

Lilla has the most wonderful set of videos on You Tube
with heaps of tutorials on making these and many
other creations including garlands, journals,
crazy quilt purses, cornucopias and the list goes on
so
how generous can one woman be to offer
all of these for us.
Now go and check out her blog because you just might
be looking for a new gift to make for Christmas.

  2. Very sweet dolls Suzy!Once you start making dolls you just might get hooked.I gave one to my mother(the one on my last blogpost), and you should have seen her face!!
    Layla will love her fairy!
I gave an angel to Gill(our heroic co-ordinator at the Museum), and the look on her face was worth every second I spent on it!

  3. Oh yes our Lilla is a real treasure in blogland and not nearly enough bloggers know about her.

Lilla very generously shares her creativity and wonderful ideas by way of tutorials via youtube as well as on her blog.
When I visit other bloggers I can often see Lilla's influence on what and how they create.
She deserves a medal for her generosity.

I love your interpretation Suzy and that is such a magical doll you made for Layla - she will be 'over the moon'!

    Christmas hugs

Advent.
