Savouring some stunning lace and New Cards

Quite recently a special friend,
 Liz (from Lululizinlalaland)
and I participated in a wonderful swap.
I exchanged some of my lush velvets, satins, silks
and rare fabrics
for some of Liz's prized collection of antique French Lace.
but before showing these I have posted two of my
latest Madonna cards which now appear in
my Etsy

It's no secret how j'adore beautiful lace especially
antique lace and French lace - well that's the icing on the cake!
So brace yourself for a viewing of some exquisite and rare
pieces that are becoming harder to find these days.

Many of these pieces have been in Liz's collection for many years
and being a fabric hoarder I know how precious these pieces
really are!

The parcel arrived, of course, with many little extra loves
like these gorgeous sari ribbons,

a card created by Liz herself along with these gorgeous pieces.
I shall let the photos "do the talking" as they say because
I can't find the words to describe their exquisiteness!

The parcel also included a number of small doilies

as Liz knows just how many of these I use in my creations!

Look at this butterfly - Oh the details!

There were also a number of these narrow laces that I had
never seen before either. Just so beautiful!

These laces are very precious and Liz knows just how much
I appreciate them all and I know it will be almost
impossible for me to cut into any of them,
however,
I am planning a new book of Treasured Pieces of Yesteryear
and that is where I think some of these will live as it
will be a keepsake for many years to come.

 ♥♥♥

This collage is one I sent to Liz along with the fabrics so this also
gives you an idea of how much lace I really manage to use.

Collages like these sometimes appear in my Etsy shop
so don't forget to keep looking or contact me if
you are interested in purchasing one
of your own.

♥♥♥

Lace just makes my heart skip a beat and takes me back to how my grandmother crocheted so many wonderful treasures that I still own and decorate with.
