Simply Neutrals No. 46 - Little Felted Lace and Silk journals

Dear friends
some of you may have already seen my post on fb
about these little felted lace journals.

So here on my blog you can get to see more close up images
of the artwork

where you can get a closer look at the layers,

the stitching used with my sewing machine,

some of the vintage laces used
and the silk tops over which I have
embellished with embroidery machine stitching.

The inside pages were left blank with botanical
stamping and washi tape
used to add interest!

These little journals are now all sold
but
I am in the process of creating a new four
which will be in my Etsy shop
sometime this week so keep checking!

I'm linking this post to Simply Neutrals Tuesday
which is open for the whole of the month of
July.

Wishing you all a wonderful week my friends!
and
Thank you all so very much for your continued support of my artwork!

Love and hugs, Suzy xxx

  2. Suzy, these are SO beautiful I would hesitate to write in them. Yet, that's their purpose, eh? I Love how you've added the words; it only adds to the poignancy.

  3. Of course they sold! How could they not? I love the simplicity of the insides too, although I know I could never actually write in them.

  4. Hi Suzy, each one of these is exquisite and they look so gorgeous together, especially the spines. I hope you are out enjoying this gorgeous sunny weather. I am pruning my roses this week. I have just had a visitor from the US - we hadn't seen each other for 35 years! Now I have to get back to catching up with everything.

  5. OMGosh Suzy!!! These are absolutely exquisite!!! Your artwork with these journals totally blows my mind, dear friend!Really everything you make blows my mind- you are so very talented!!
Did you do the felting on a machine or by hand? I ask this because, I was gifted a felting machine about 6 years back, and I have yet to use it, or even look at it- a shame for sure, but maybe something to do this fall?
i Adore your work dear friend and always look forward to visiting with you!
Sending lots of love and hugs,Jackie

I felted the layers on my felting machine. I simply love to use it this way! And a piece can be created quite quickly - well at least this part!
Thanks so much for appreciating my artwork dear friend! I do hope you are completely back to "normal", in fact better now since your surgery!
      Love and blessings to you!

    1. Haha Lanette! So what sewing machine did you purchase? I had to very recently buy a new one also as my 10 year old Pfaff which I was sew in love with died on me and they don't manufacture parts for that one now so sadly I had to outlay many dollars for a new one and am still getting used to it. Can't wait to see what you create. Let me know when you do dear friend!
