As we all know:

(From the Byrd's song)
There is "A time to dance, a time to mourn
To everything (turn turn turn)
There is a season (turn turn turn)
And a time to every purpose under Heaven".

So with the advent of the Spring season here where I live
on the far south coast of Australia

I have turned my muse to a new birth of creativity
in the form of a Nature Journal
which is on my table
ready for assembling.

I was so fortunate that this commission came just at the time
when I was needing the challenge
of a new project
to get back

to the place where I belong - in my studio!!!

Thank you so much Gisele

A Giveaway for Gratitude

It really is never easy to say
your last "Goodbye" to a loving parent, especially the only remaining one!
The funeral and all the associated emotional events around it
did leave us quite empty.

However, I can't tell you just how many blessings, how much comfort and peace
I received from the most heart warming comments I received from
blogging friends and even bloggers unknown
during this time of grief.

So as a way of expressing my deep gratitude and appreciation to you all
and to help restore some of my creative motivation
I have created

This Giveaway
ending on Friday, 23rd September.

for you all to enter as a Bouquet of Love!

It also provides a chance for my new followers to possibly share in my creations.

There are no rules except one entry per person
and
please feel free to
place it on your sidebar to share with others.

I have two chances for you to win:
The first person drawn will win the above collaged and embellished
Rose Clutch
(This was very popular in a previous giveaway!)
made from a recycled lace tray cloth, a cut lace linen doiley,
scrim and satin ribbon roses with vintage buttons,
a buckle and a bundle of lace fabrics.

The second person whose name I draw
will receive this embellished lace and linen doiley needlebook

with some white silk tassel fringing,
Venetian and cotton laces and

trims.

So here is the total amount being given away:

The draw will take place on
Friday, 23rd September.

I wish everyone including all my new followers
the very best of luck and look forward
to your continued love and support of my artwork
and
thank you all so very much for leaving such wonderful comments.

Enjoy this protea from our garden "Blushing Bride".

Wishing you love, peace and blessings,

Another Very Sad Loss

It is with great sadness that I share the news
of the passing of my dear 90 year old Dad
who
died of pneumonia after suffering a period of time with chronic heart failure.

It had been only 10 days after arriving home
from an interstate visit to say "our goodbyes" while
there was time to share some special moments sitting in the sunshine
and staring at the clouds.

At the time of hearing how quickly of his passing
I was working on my new journal
"Tattered Angels"
and

immediately felt him surrounded by their presence with him.

This project will now be put aside as we travel back to Adelaide for his funeral
during this week which means I will be absent from my blog
until approx. 22nd August
but I will have my Ipad with me to be in touch!

Farewell great and wonderful man who served his country
in the Royal Australian Air Force No. 3 Squadron in
the Middle East and other threatres of
World War II
and

(Dad is on the Left)

leaving behind my stepmother, siblings and grandchildren.

I sincerely hope his legacy of love, discipline and courage
continue to live on in me!

Thank you all so very much for your condolences that I have already received
and

to all the wonderful people who have enjoyed my creations enough to follow
even if you have no blog for me to comment back.

Love and all good wishes to you!

A New Collage and some Gifts to share

As many of you know I have been away for a short while
visiting my elderly father in Adelaide,
South Australia
and
during this visit Jeff and I shared a "mystery tour"
with a very old friend, Sue, and her husband, Ian,
which took us to a beach resort for
2 nights.
It really was a most pleasant time visiting some beautiful places, a winery,
and gorgeous galleries and shops.

As it was Sue's birthday I made this collage for her.

I did manage to find some bits and pieces for creating with like these:

 and these.

On my arrival back home there were two parcels awaiting from dear friends including
one from Marie of
with these beautiful items

Some beautiful vintage photos, text, music sheets, ledger paper, vintage
articles from magazines, two packets of mixed threads
and
these gorgeous vintage wooden pegs

which will be so useful in winding on my laces.
Thank you so very much Marie - for all your kindness!

Also
from my friend Judy came this wonderful selection of doilies in all number of
sizes from tiny to large

and
I have already dyed some and am onto my next project
with these -
Thank you Judy so much - you are always so generous and thoughtful.

Another sale - Petite Rose Journal has now been posted off to its new
owner in Australia.

Wishing every one a wonderful upcoming week creating or doing what you most love to do.  A special thanks to all my new followers and to everyone who has commented on my
new header.
