Announcing the Winner of My Giveaway

Choosing the Winner of any Giveaway
is never easy especially when you wish for everyone to win
but
that choice is taken away from you when the winner is
chosen randomly
so
asking DH to just choose a number out of 112
he chose No. 84
so this Fabric and Paper Collage created by me

has been won by
Jillayne Wickware
Now Jillayne is a most creative artist and quilter
who uses the most beautiful fabrics, buttons and beads
so go and visit her blog for some new inspiration.
Congratulations Jillayne!
The collage will be off to you very soon!
I am sure that the collage will be right at home with you!

I really can't thank you all enough for the wonderful
coments left here by ALL of you.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
And
another big THANK YOU to all of my new followers
who love my artworks and creations enough
to show continued interest
even when I can't always reply immediately.

I also have another gift to share with one of a number of
supportive followers who so generously placed the
the Giveaway on

their blog
and this gift is an appreciation of a guesture of kindness

and it goes to Carole at

and you will receive this little collection of
an ATC, vintage laces and doilies

More Hearts, Hydrangeas, Home Decor and Giveaway Reminder

I was the very lucky winner of this gorgeous fabric from
(A Fine Seam)
(thank you just so much Jillayne - what a lovely thought!)

recently and loved it so much that I had to purchase more!
It inspired me to create more Hearts like these below:

adding burlap, vintage laces, an embroidered hankerchief

dyed scrim, tulle, netting

and this beautiful metal embellishment
from Liz included in an order I purchased from her
Etsy Shop - visit Liz here to see her very
French inspired Blog and then over to
her shop.

Some more beautifully green tinged hydrangeas
(originally in blue tones)
were ready for drying

as well as these ones which were originally
in pink tones
And yes - another Heart but this one is flat
and backed in chocolate coloured felt
with more burlap, vintage laces
a suffolk puff and chiffon rose
dyed seam binding, guipure lace
and scrim
And just a pic of a couple of recent trays
I purchased
which I find are so useful for a number of projects
(as well as serving cups of tea on, of course!
or the odd glass of wine!)
as well as two small metal plates.
Somehow these items of metal, wood and silver plating
with etched glass on the clock seem to co-exist
very happily together!!!!
There is just one thing else to mention
and, that is,
MY   GIVEAWAY
of a Fabric Collage

so if you would like to enter before 29th Feb.
please go to the previous post
and
leave a comment there with your email address
so that I have a way to contact you!

In the meantime,
remember that:

"happiness is a way of travel each day
and not a destination"!

Some More Heart Love and a Beautiful Childrens' Book

I was so inspired when I saw the beautiful lace hearts
on Julia's
www.vintagewithlaces.blogspot.com
(go here to check out Julia's most beautiful lace creations
as well as her wonderful vintage repurposed items)

that I had to make just one more Shabby Chic Love Heart
before the weekend
and this is how it turned out.

I used an image of John William Waterhouse
a favourite pre-Raphaelite artist
in sepia tones.

Embellished with vintage laces, guipure lace and
a white rose chiffon

faux pearls, a vintage button

A little gold embellishment I received from Julia herself

and some twine, thin lace, seam binding and
a maroon tassel.

This Shabby Chic Valentine Heart is for sale in
my Etsy Shop - see here or above under header for
all the details.

I also wanted to share this vintage book I recently purchased

at a local flea market which I thought was rather special.

This book which was probably published about 1930
are Stories from Charles Dickens - born in 1812

(Great Britain is currently celebrating Dickens 200th
Birthday!!)

which have been retold by his grand daughter.

Such beautiful plates and illustrations
like these.

Thank you all for coming to visit and for leaving your much appreciated comments
and
I especially welcome all my new followers.

Have a very warm and cosy weekend - even here in
the Southern part of Australia
it is quite a cool Summer too but we are never
ungrateful for the beautiful rain
to green up our very dry hills and grounds.

Love to all!
Suzy xxx
