Moving on from Hearts to Stone Angels

It's been three years now since I made my second
Fabric Lace book.
This I learned from an on-line workshop taught by
Nellie Wartman at

called Altered Fabric Book
(This is still available on her blog too!!!!!)
and
since then I have created quite a number of  Fabric Altered books
but
that book I still treasure as I learned so much.
Nellie is one of the sweetest, most conscientious and creative woman I have met here in blogland!

Just sharing a few of the pages from that book "Pandora's Box"
that I thought you might like to see here again!

This really was a quite a plump book overflowing with lots of luscious fabrics
and laces which I still love so very much.

Anyway I decided it was time to revisit Nellie's blog
as she was offering a new instructional DVD of an Art Book
called "Clarity"
Here is the link:

 https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/207624779/instructional-dvd-art-bookclarity?ref=shop_home_feat_1

 which really is
more of a paper and paint journal so I decided to give that
a go - never having painted anything before.
Nellie supplied some beautiful photo images of Stone Angels
which we were to alter by painting
and
as I didn't want to destroy these first up
I decided to use one of my own as a practice run
and this was the result:

Front Cover with altered photo - painted!!! (background).

Inside covers!

Blank pages were added last.

I found this DVD very inspirational and I found Nellie
to be not just an excellent teacher but always available
to discuss any questions I had and offering excellent feedback.
I highly recommend this wonderful DVD
especially also if you are wanting to
learn how to construct a
paper journal.

♥♥♥

With all of this new inspiration I decided to create another
collage using one of the Stone Angels I have
collected  (probably from Pinterest)
using a black and white image
along with many layers of earth toned fabrics (recycled and new)
including brocade, linen, silk, fabric laces as well as
vintage netting and a vintage doily.

I really am a Fabric, textural and lace age girl at heart!
This is now available for sale in my Etsy

Wishing you angel hugs from here!

Romantic Love Hearts

There really is something special
about creating hearts and with hearts -
whether from paper, lace, fabric, textiles, felt
or
a medium of your choice.

I have created these ones from a deep rich
burgundy felt adding vintage laces
and mop as well as vintage buttons
which I have created as pockets to hold a tag
on a background of little remnants of rose fabrics, chiffon
and embroidered netting.

These little collages have been added to cards

and I have added some sweet vintage images to the tags
which have space on the back for adding a little
message.
♥♥♥

There are two styles here - this one being similar
but not the same

and they are both available for sale
in my Etsy shop.

These little projects are keeping me so busy with less time
available for visiting blogs
but
I hope to catch up this weekend with returning the
beautiful comments you have all been leaving
here when you visit!
I am so very grateful to you all!!!

Have a beautiful weekend keeping love in your hearts!

For the Romantic at Heart

For the rose lovers out there who just love everything
romantic that goes with roses
I have gathered together
some packs
of pretty cotton rose fabrics
that you may wish to incorporate into your
quilting, applique, mixed media, scrap booking projects
or
any other project you can imagine!
Included in the pack is a selection of
cotton rose prints and paisley prints

some ticking and toile in deep red and white

as well as some shell pink broderie anglaise
and cotton laces.

I have 4 of these packs made up and they are available
in my Etsy shop.
At the time of posting I now have only 1 pack left!
They have gone from the shop it seems
in an instant from advertising!

I would be happy to make up custom orders
if I have the fabrics available in
your color choices.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Also in my shop is this new Heart Collage

Created with recycled taffeta, soft white cottons,
broderie anglaise, mocha lace fabric,
chiffon, a beautiful old
doily

and embellished with a sweet vintage key
dangling from a dyed scrim bow.
The pocket on the front is trimmed with taffeta,
sari ribbon and vintage lace fabric
in co-ordinating colors.

The front flap over the pocket can be lifted
to reveal the words printed -
"The key to my heart"

and the pocket carries a sweet vintage
postcard which says
"With Love" - the words being made up of
roses! How unusual is that!

So there we have it - a special post for the
"Rose Romantics" - could that be you?
