Simply Neutrals Tuesday No. 34 - Birthday gift

When you receive such a beautiful gift as this in the mail
your heart not only skips a beat
but you also know that
the sender is
so in tune with your creative appetite
that they are totally on the same page as you
in every way!

This gift arrived in the mail
so thoughtfully wrapped and prepared
in little parcels!

You can't imagine the size of this tiny Madonna image
which was framed in layers of lace
pieces, a mother of pearl button and with the tiniest
matching envelope all of about 2 inches square!

A da Vinci drawing collaged so beautifully
with vintage laces and even
some eco dyed silk I had gifted
my friend sometime ago!

This is a most exquisite Bird and Butterfly mobile
and ithas been machine stitched together with cotton -
I have yet to share it hanging on our
antique dresser!

And there's no guessing why I received these
exquisite antique lace pieces
to be incorporated into
creations
if I have the heart to use them!

Have you ever seen the likes of this piece of Silk
and crocheted cloth - well actually it is
a pillow sham and I think that the
covered pillow in a coloured cover
would have been passed between the two layers of
silk and lace!

It certainly is stunning and most unusual!
I have never seen work like this before
and it is completely hand croched
and
hand stitched together!

A few cabinet cards two of which have
the most exquisite borders in a puce/mushroom shade!

How special is this angel card?
- the extensive wings and gown - sheer elegance!!

I think I have been blessed by an angel to receive
all of this amazing beauty
and
would love to share it on
Simply Neutrals Tuesday

Gifts in the Mail!

I'd like to share a couple of gifts that arrived in the mail
recently.
Firstly from my dear Dorthe, (Denlillelade) one of the
 most talented dollmakers
you will ever find sent me this amazing gift
from Bornholm.

Oh my goodness! and what a darling she is!

Dressed so elegantly in her handmade vintage broderie anglaise
lace dress gathered at the waist with some white
velvet ribbon with a bow charm!

She arrived no worse for wear after her very long trip
across the ocean

with her pretty bow in her long shaggy hair -
her bloomers are sheer so
not to be revered!!!

with the prettiest expression painted on her face
and now she lives happily with her sister
angel who arrived last year.

Now don't these two dolls look as if they just belong together?
Sisters together can live forever!
Sincere heart felt thanks my sweet Dorthe
- a friendship so special
and so dear to me!

Look at this card which arrived with it -
so many collaged textures, papers and lace
- it's a piece of art to treasure in itself!

And all the way from England came another most
exquisite card made by dear Liz
(Lululizinlalaland)

Isn't that such a beautiful image and she's framed
with some the softest rich feathers too
and

with this were a vintage darning mushroom.
I can feel just how well used and loved this is from
holding and using it!!!
(yes I have already put to the test too!)
as well as a huge stash of
incredible vintage ephemera such as
these.

and these superb photos and postcards to
play with........now this girl knows me
far too well
after our years of friendship.

Thank you so much dear Liz - you already know
how much I appreciate it all!!!

Speaking of cards I have just completed my first two
Easter cards which I will have in my Etsy shop
shortly.

Thank you all for you kind comments -
it is such a pleasure to have you visit me -
I am truly grateful!!!

A New Collage and some Gifts to share

As many of you know I have been away for a short while
visiting my elderly father in Adelaide,
South Australia
and
during this visit Jeff and I shared a "mystery tour"
with a very old friend, Sue, and her husband, Ian,
which took us to a beach resort for
2 nights.
It really was a most pleasant time visiting some beautiful places, a winery,
and gorgeous galleries and shops.

As it was Sue's birthday I made this collage for her.

I did manage to find some bits and pieces for creating with like these:

 and these.

On my arrival back home there were two parcels awaiting from dear friends including
one from Marie of
with these beautiful items

Some beautiful vintage photos, text, music sheets, ledger paper, vintage
articles from magazines, two packets of mixed threads
and
these gorgeous vintage wooden pegs

which will be so useful in winding on my laces.
Thank you so very much Marie - for all your kindness!

Also
from my friend Judy came this wonderful selection of doilies in all number of
sizes from tiny to large

and
I have already dyed some and am onto my next project
with these -
Thank you Judy so much - you are always so generous and thoughtful.

Another sale - Petite Rose Journal has now been posted off to its new
owner in Australia.

Wishing every one a wonderful upcoming week creating or doing what you most love to do.  A special thanks to all my new followers and to everyone who has commented on my
new header.

Love Suzy xxx
