The Richness of Reds

You could never guess how stunning the color Red
can be until you see it used in these
beautiful creations which I
received from two blogging friends for Christmas.

Firstly, from Liz  in England/France
this amazing necklace which she created
by altering this beautiful strand of Vintage red aurora borealis crystal beads

by adding to it her own Vintage velvet, lace and pearl wrapped
beads

and some ceramic and pearly white oval beads.

The focal point of the necklace is this stunning
Vintage Madonna medal and

it features perfectly on the chain of pearl beads.

At the moment she is gracing the neck of my dress form
which you can surely tell but I have to tell you how
beautifully it sits around my neck.
Thank you so much Liz - it will
always be treasured.

Along with the necklace arrived this lovely
Christmas card of  "Joy and Peace "
also created by Liz and some
very handy white tags.
All is so very much appreciated as is your friendship!

Now this packet travelled all the way from Canada to Australia
from Karen Bailey  (Todolwen). Many of you would
know Karen's blog where she shares
her crocheted creations and her
very generous tutorials
for you all to follow.

Inside this parcel I found this gorgeous
and very warm and Wintery Christmas stocking which
was embellished so beautifully by Karen
with crocheted snowflakes and flowers
What a beautiful Christmas combination of colors

Look how creatively Karen has embellished this stocking!

Inside the stocking I found this little sachet of golden bells

and a packet of paper snowflakes (just perfect
for embellishing cards and collages),

these long stemmed flowers created with a
grey wool with a silvery thread running
through it.

This red silk scarf is so fine and stunning
with a snowflake pattern

printed so beautifully all over it.

Snowflakes are something which are unfamiliar to us
here in Australia (where our Christmasses are usually hot and dry) so it is quite special to receive such a gorgeous piece of finery
from Karen.

Everything in this parcel is lovely and it makes it so special
when a friend creates something with their own hands
that you can appreciate.

I can only say "thank you" Karen for your kindness and
we look forward
to seeing more of your original projects in the
coming New Year.

I take this opportunity to tell you also that I have several new Valentine artworks and supplies in my
Etsy Shop
which I shall share here soon!

♥♥♥♥♥

I would also like to wish all my readers a most
 Happy and Healthy New Year
where some of your dreams may be fulfilled!
