Three Small Journals

Dear Friends
I am a very fortunate artist being able
to draw on a large amount of
mixed media supplies in the form of textiles,
vintage laces and fabrics as well as
handmade paper and
wonderful vintage images!

So from these I have just completed a set of three small journals
incorporating all of these with

lovely
sentiments of music!

The books have been compiled with several pages
of hand made paper waiting for you
to write your thoughts from the heart,
lines you wish to remember or
to store your secrets
between yourself or your God!

These images convey a sampling of the
pages in the book with vintage women,

stamping and stenciling

embroidered patches of antique silk fabrics,
printed cottons and tapestry fabrics

layered on top of each other
with pockets sitting opposite for tags.

 Images have been embellished with
pieces of old lace, dyed cheesecloth, eco-paper and buttons.

Oh and then there are these pieces of
silk organza roses - just perfectly blending
into the pages.

These little books which measure about 7 inches x 5 inches
are now available in my Etsy shop
and
at the time of posting this there are still 2 available.

Many thanks for looking today and hope you are all
having a very fruitful week!

More great talent to share!

I'm sure you all know how much talent there is
out there in blogland amongst so many
many bloggers and today
I'm going to share
some
with you again!

I know first hand how really beautiful these are because
I have been holding them and feeling all
the lovely energy that has gone into creating
these gifts.

This first package arrived from my dearest Dorthe
of denlillelade - See how sweetly everything
is wrapped?

Many of you know Dorthe for her exquisite dollmaking

amongst many other talents in the world of mixed media.

This is such an amazing frozen Charlotte doll from

Dorthe's own collection which she has adorned
so beautifully in gorgeous vintage laces
and doilies over a netted skirt -
isn't she just precious?
and
her dress is embellished with bling, buttons,
jewellery and is wearing a sweet little love note.
Her wings are fashioned from old papers
and fabric.

and now she sits on the old treadle sewing machine on a stack
of depression glass bowels in my home for me to
admire!
How lucky can one girl be?

This beautiful bird tag also created by Dorthe

was attached to the parcel
along with this

vintage heart.

This elegant woman adorned in pearls

is surrounded in layers of frothy ruffles and pretty
laces, frills and flowers.

I did say these women were talented so now you know what I mean!

Our special friendship now spans more than 3 years
and I count my blessings with friends like these.

Now Sharon of
Livewire Jewelery fame

is another very special friend who creates

the most amazing handmade artisan jewelery
such as this piece above as well as earings
and rings etc.
I love the etching on the copper piece
and
the punched out word of "Love"
Sharon also is an extremely heartfelt mixed media artist
creating paper and fabric collages and tags
such as the one above.
Her creations are available in her Etsy shop
and the link is on her blog above.

She also knows how I adore vintage laces
and

spoiled me with these stunning pieces above
and I am so proud to be wearing your necklace!

I am so very grateful to you Sharon -
your kindness is extraordinary!

I'm joining in at Timewashed for the
Blissful Whites Wednesday with Becky this week
as well as What's it Wednesday - Ivy and Elephants.
So come on over and see more talent there too!

“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?”

Thanks to all who come to pay a visit
especially when you take the time to
leave a word or two!
Just thank you!!!♥

Love and hugs,
Suzy

P.S. Sorry that I had to restore the
"Word Verification" again.  I had spam overload!!!

Creating with Gifted Lace

 Hello Dear Readers
Well I really hope you are not getting
too bored with me by now
always talking about
lace, linen and doilies - receiving it, buying it,
talking about it and creating with it
because I have even more to share with you
today

This most beautiful stash of the finest vintage net lace

doilies, broderie englaise and an array of

bits and pieces including these most gorgeous

hand tatted and Vintage knitted lace pieces

arrived in the mail from my most generous friend
Judy McCarthy who recently suspended her blog
"Judy's Fabrications"
for a break for the time being.

Thank you Judy so very much for always thinking of me!
Some of these have already been included in my works!

♥♥♥♥♥

And, all the way from Bornholm, Denmark
came this most beautifully wrapped gift

from Dorthe of

Another bundle of the most beautiful lace pieces,
vintage curtain, beaded ribbon,

with this accompanying die cut and lace tag
with a stone angel and wings - isn't it beautiful?
(The other wing is on the underside of the tag!)

with an assortment of precious cut lace, collars,
embroidered doiley, handkerchief and motifs'

 Dorthe included some of these
beautiful glittery stars.

See how they sparkle?
These beautiful pieces will be used
when I create my Christmas angels with their
soft flowing dresses of vintage lace and silk.

Thank you so very much my very dear friend -
it's priceless and precious
when our blogging friends know us that well that
they know what makes our hearts sing!
Little jewells of beauty!

Please go and visit Dorthe's blog if you don't already
know her and her gorgeous doll and mixed media
creations.

♥♥♥♥♥

"Thoughts Far Away"
is the theme of this collage created

for another dear blogging friend (whom has not as yet received it).

I've always loved this image and

I realize that very often these are the source
of what inspire me to create pieces that

will become endeared by others who also have
the same passion for laces, satin and sari ribbon and
embellishments like roses as I have!
Oh what beautiful textures!

This last collaged tag was a little
creation I came up with
this afternoon with some
French accents

it was made for a girlfriend's Birthday!

Hope she enjoys this little tresor!

Thank you everyone for enjoying
your visits here and to all those
people who know how much I appreciate their
wonderful gifts of lace - the more they see
of these little creations - the more they
seem to want to offer and I am so
very grateful for that!

I'm linking to Ivy and Elephants
with this!

Thank you for your lovely comments - always!

I can feel another "Giveaway" mulling around in my head
for all of my faithful followers to enter
and know it won't be long before you see it posted here
so keep checking!

Love and blessings to you xox
Suzy
