Wishing for a "Heart Felt" Christmas

Before sharing  this small felted
and collaged fabric book I would like to say just a huge
"Thank you" to all who have entered my

GIVEAWAY
(see my button on top right!)

AND
for all the wonderful and supportive comments
that have been left by you all!
I am sorry if I have not been able to respond to everyone's
comments as yet but please know that you are SO
appreciated!

Now for the story about the felted book
called
'HEART FELT".
It was  made
for a dear blogging friend, Paula,
who
is currently recovering
in Intensive Care following major
heart surgery.

Paula just adores roses so I thought it fitting

to create one based on roses.

The pages have been collaged and quilted
onto chocolate coloured felt
using a selection of vintage laces
and rose fabrics from
my fabric stash.

I made this to give her  inspiration,
courage and strength
for what she was about to face.

This is where it sits - right beside her bed
and it will be there waiting for her
on her return home
for Christmas.

Paula sent me these gorgeous gifts
which she made before she left for the surgery.

Paula is an extremely talented dollmaker,
mixed media artist,
 embroiderer, needle worker
and collage artist.

We are all sending Paula lots of healing energy,
love and support
during this most difficult time
and looking forward to seeing her back in her garden
and her beautiful  studio enjoying each day full of health
and happiness.

Paul's condition is a very sobering reminder of our very short time on this planet and how we must make the best
use of it
as well as the need to look out for each other!

Just a few more completed needlebooks here
which have already been sold!

A final reminder to you all
about my
GIVEAWAY!!!

If you would like to enter please see my
previous post for all the details
to enter
there
(not on this post).
You still have one week left!

Wishing you all a most relaxing weekend!

A couple of my blogging friends have
also just become the
proud owners of 4 legged fury babies
and
I wish them lots of fun in
getting to know their new family members!

A "True Blue" Journal

"True Blue"
I thought this would be such an appropriate title
for this new 24 page journal in "blues".

"True Blue" is a term often used in Australia
and it means
"loyal, faithful, as in ' You can count on her support; -
she's "true blue".

Every page is heavily collaged with
dyed doilies, laces,

vintage fabrics,
silks - printed, plain and embossed

It contains some of the softest Vintage
blue hankerchieves
like this one

as well as some very pretty vintage curtain fabric
I had stashed away for many years

as well as some crazy patchwork

and some upcycled embroidered cotton.

All blank pages have been coffee stained with plenty of spaces
for writing your own thoughts, verse, memories etc.
and it carries a feeling of
delicate close to the heart journal.

The beautiful blue and cream trim was in a gift I received
from Socrates at
She creates the most beautiful art as well as journals.

This journal is now available for sale in
my etsy shop at
if you would like to view it there.

Sending a bit of colour from our Early Summer garden for you to enjoy for the weekend
Some Double Purple Wisteria.   In the  background  are
some tall standing trees on our
property.

Love to all including all my new followers,

Petite Rose Journal

I do believe by now you know just how much of a passion I have for
ROSES
so it was just a matter of time before I made a journal with
roses being the theme.

I have been a collector of a wide range of fabrics now for many years and so I just happened to have in my stash
a variety of the most gorgeous pink and red
 Silk Rose Fabrics
which I have used to make

this journal.

There are a total of 16 pages of water colour paper
and each page has been collaged, stitched and
edged with a variety of laces, napkins, fabrics and scrim.

Several of the pages are blank with headings
to inspire your thoughts.

These headings have been printed onto handmade paper.

This journal will be available for purchase
from my Etsy shop.
(The two journals on my previous post
have just been SOLD!!!).
So you may see more info. there.
My Etsy shop can be accessed from
the sidebar on the right.

And, even though we are experienceing Winter in Australia where I live,
these few roses are among the ones still flowering
through this very cold weather
and so rich in colour
for your enjoyment.

Trusting that the week is going well for you
 with much inspiration for creating.
Love Suzy xxx
