"True Blue"
I thought this would be such an appropriate title
for this new 24 page journal in "blues".
"True Blue" is a term often used in Australia
and it means
"loyal, faithful, as in ' You can count on her support; -
she's "true blue".
Every page is heavily collaged with
dyed doilies, laces,
vintage fabrics,
silks - printed, plain and embossed
It contains some of the softest Vintage
blue hankerchieves
like this one
as well as some very pretty vintage curtain fabric
I had stashed away for many years
as well as some crazy patchwork
and some upcycled embroidered cotton.
All blank pages have been coffee stained with plenty of spaces
for writing your own thoughts, verse, memories etc.
and it carries a feeling of
delicate close to the heart journal.
The beautiful blue and cream trim was in a gift I received
from Socrates at
She creates the most beautiful art as well as journals.
This journal is now available for sale in
my etsy shop at

if you would like to view it there.
Sending a bit of colour from our Early Summer garden for you to enjoy for the weekend
Some Double Purple Wisteria. In the background are
some tall standing trees on our
property.
Love to all including all my new followers,

ReplyDeleteOh my Suzy, That is one beautiful journal. I plan on devoting some time to journals of this type but as family keepsakes. I just don't know how you can stand to let go of any of yours but I guess maybe after I create a zillion I may feel differently! I have one started of my Mom all in Violets and lavender, it will contain some of her photos and personal things from days past. Hugs sweet friend, have a beautiful weekend! Love the Wisteria! Oh Suzy I love, love, LOVE this true blue journal!!! I received my prize package from you today and photographed every step of the way as I excitedly opened it. WOW!!!!! Everything from the way you so carefully and lovingly wrapped the journal with vintage pattern paper and tied with beautiful pink satin ribbon to those awesome ribbon cards with very unique vintage trims is just gorgeous. Almost too good to be true or to use, but I will make a very special family heritage journal out of this treasure! I will post pictures on my blog, Diary of a Craft Room Transformation tonight after dh leaves to petsit for our granddogs and grandkitties.

What a gorgeous new creation. These colors are so fabulous together. Thank you for crediting my little offering. It was my pleasure. It's an honor to participate a little in your book. :-))
ReplyDeleteVery lovely journal, the blues are so pretty and all the vintage linens and laces included make it sumptuous. Thanks to seeing lovely work like yours, I've been able to use several small doilies inherited from my grandmother in an art piece. However, I must admit that I feel conflicted about it. Admittedly, they were in poor condition, but, at the same time having crocheted and tatted doilies myself, I know how much time goes into making them. Hmmm...I'll try to get over it!
ReplyDeletebest, nadia

I was happily looking at all the photos of your latest journal and then my jaw dropped when I saw the wisteria! We had one in our garden once and it was massive but never bloomed. We were told that they wouldn't survive here in Canada so it was surprising that it did so well. I think the next owners yanked it out. Yours is gorgeous!!
