Khadi Paper Projects

Dear Blogging friends
I have recently pulled out my stash
of Khadi paper which is just the softest paper
you could ever wish to create with and on
and
I have made these items.
 Firstly these!

So I created the covers for these little Book Bundles
to hold a selection of mixed media papers,
stamped tea bags, scrapbooking papers
and laces

and they were held in the covers with these
clips

I followed these little Book Bundles up
with these hand stitched mixed media
collaged art envelopes
once again using the handmade cotton Khadi paper

 and
these were filled once again with a selection
of Vintage papers and Vintage laces,
similar to the above but much larger

 and due to popular demand
I then have created these new Vintage Inspiration Packs
with the collaged teabag art.
These envelopes could be used in your own journals
or as covers in your junk journals or scrappbooking.

and they are listed in my Etsy Shop
where they are listed for sale.

Thank you so much for coming to visit me here
and to view my latest artworks!

Wishing you all much joy in the new changing seasons
wherever you live!!!

Working with Textiles and Crazy Quilting

Textiles have always been a very big part of my creative life
ever since I first began quilting and patchwork
some 40 years ago!
So I have gathered quite a collection of
amazing fabrics and embellishments
over the years!

So recently I stepped back from my usual creativity
where I create more with mixed media
 and
delved into my stash to complete some
projects using these and
some crazy quilting techniques!

I have made many bags and totes over the years
and here are just a few!
Firstly these two Boho shoulder bags

using quite exotic fabrics such as silk velvets,
embroidered silks and brocades
along with gorgeous Indian beaded motives
and lace pieces
plus this next one basically
using cotton and vintage textural fabrics.

The next one is a clutch which I hand stitched

using some textiles from Rajasthan
and some very old hand embroidered braid!

and the second one here is a larger clutch
created from a number of textiles
and embellished with fringing and vintage buttons!

This last item is a rather unusual but sweet
hand sewing carry-all for your needles and pins
with pockets for measuring tape, scissors, etc.

This sits beautifully over your lounge arm rest
and is easily accessible
and
what an enjoyable little treasure to have
at your side whilst sewing!
♥♥♥♥♥
These items are now available for sale in
if this suits your fancy.

Thanks so very much for coming to visit me here.
It is so appreciated by me.
Enjoy your day!

Three Small Journals

Dear Friends
I am a very fortunate artist being able
to draw on a large amount of
mixed media supplies in the form of textiles,
vintage laces and fabrics as well as
handmade paper and
wonderful vintage images!

So from these I have just completed a set of three small journals
incorporating all of these with

lovely
sentiments of music!

The books have been compiled with several pages
of hand made paper waiting for you
to write your thoughts from the heart,
lines you wish to remember or
to store your secrets
between yourself or your God!

These images convey a sampling of the
pages in the book with vintage women,

stamping and stenciling

embroidered patches of antique silk fabrics,
printed cottons and tapestry fabrics

layered on top of each other
with pockets sitting opposite for tags.

 Images have been embellished with
pieces of old lace, dyed cheesecloth, eco-paper and buttons.

Oh and then there are these pieces of
silk organza roses - just perfectly blending
into the pages.

These little books which measure about 7 inches x 5 inches
are now available in my Etsy shop
and
at the time of posting this there are still 2 available.

Many thanks for looking today and hope you are all
having a very fruitful week!

"Reflections" - a little Plaster and Teabag book

As a tribute to one of my favorite artists
I created this little booklet using
plaster covers, water color paper and tea bags!

I printed the art images onto the teabags
and was quite pleased how they turned out!

Even where I felt it was unsuccessful I still loved
the effect (below)!

 Serviettes, ephemera and washi tape

along with stitching, some charcoal and lace
is what I used.

To finish up I created a simple binding with string
and added some beading, a vintage button and a rusty tag!

It's always exciting when you take a leap of faith
and the rewards reveal themselves to you!
Enjoy and thanks for your kind
visits to my blog!

I still feel that blogging is the platform of choice
for showcasing and sharing what we create
so lets try to continue to support
each other here!

So many thanks to you all!
Love Suzy xxx
