Another Very Sad Loss

It is with great sadness that I share the news
of the passing of my dear 90 year old Dad
who
died of pneumonia after suffering a period of time with chronic heart failure.

It had been only 10 days after arriving home
from an interstate visit to say "our goodbyes" while
there was time to share some special moments sitting in the sunshine
and staring at the clouds.

At the time of hearing how quickly of his passing
I was working on my new journal
"Tattered Angels"
and

immediately felt him surrounded by their presence with him.

This project will now be put aside as we travel back to Adelaide for his funeral
during this week which means I will be absent from my blog
until approx. 22nd August
but I will have my Ipad with me to be in touch!

Farewell great and wonderful man who served his country
in the Royal Australian Air Force No. 3 Squadron in
the Middle East and other threatres of
World War II
and

(Dad is on the Left)

leaving behind my stepmother, siblings and grandchildren.

I sincerely hope his legacy of love, discipline and courage
continue to live on in me!

Thank you all so very much for your condolences that I have already received
and

to all the wonderful people who have enjoyed my creations enough to follow
even if you have no blog for me to comment back.

Love and all good wishes to you!

Suzy xxx

  50. Blessings from angels are coming to you at this time of your father's passing. We just lost my husband's mother, who was 95, and she too had pneumonia and lasted about a week after going into a semi-coma state. She passed away on August 4th. She was a sweetie, a wonderful home maker and a very creative lady.
We share in your grief at this time. My own dad passed away at age 68 from cancer, and I still feel his presence and it is a comfort to my heart.
    Hugs and comforting prayers,

I am so sorry to read this post. I am so happy you got to spend time together at the end. Certainly he is present in your art, I can see that! What a handsome man he was in his uniform & the later picture of him shows he must have been quite a fun character. We are never ready to say good-bye to our parents, I've lost all of mine too young. They tell me time heals, I'm still waiting. I miss them everyday. Thoughts & prayers to you sweet friend.

  68. Suzy,
I offer you condolences with the loss of your daddy!.
Suzy, I know, with the heaviest stress in life is the loss of parents and immediate family, but remember that you're dead, and your daddy sees as suffering, and certainly wants you to be brave, you're his part, is very difficult, but it is possible.
Suzy, I know this pain well, six years ago the mother died three years ago in January in a dream my brother died suddenly, and for four months Papa died the same year, I have in my home country already parents, brother, 20 years I live alone with my three children and grandson in the Netherlands, the nearest whole family, and emigration is not easy, my dad also was a soldier and a mother during the war, deported to Germany for heavy work, etc. ...
Remember, I am / we are / with your pain,
    :)))
