is organising a project
called
Hearts to Hands for Sendai
asking for an 8 inch crazy patchwork square
from anyone wishing to participate
and this is my contribution.
The charter was to use jewel colours
and so I have engaged my sympathetic heart in using my hands
to include this heart as my centre
for the square.
It is not much to ask to help out to raise funds to help all the victims who have been
left homeless and injured
after the terrible earthquake and sunami in Japan.
The squares will be made into quilts and auctioned to raise money in aid
of this incredibly sad disaster.
Our hearts and hands go out as a little gesture
to bring just a little joy back
into their lives!
Dearest Suzy ,you made a fantastic ,piece of art, sweetie, all those colors together-the whole rainbow is there- and your beautiful heart in the middle-it is so gorgeus, my friend-I love the cheececloth flowers, with their light green leaves, and your wonderful embroidery, and pearls added.

Suzy, you have created a gorgeous quilt square with love in your heart, and skill in your hands! I love all the layers and texture you have used to adorn your piece. How healing to create with one's hands, and hopefully, it will help the people of Japan to heal from horrors of the tsunami.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful heart and idea. I love coming to your blog--it is just so scrumptious to look at!!
ReplyDeleteI love the loose weave stuff you made the roses with... I'm trying to think of an equivalent we might have here in the state... I use a very loose weave cloth when I am draining curds to make cheese... might try that... Gerry K.
ReplyDeleteDet er nogle meget meget smukke ting du laver. Hilsen Mette Laumann
