I am so glad I left unpacked just a few pieces
of lace, fabric and card stock
because
I was so terribly sorry when my dear friend, Suzette's mother
sadly passed away very recently
and
I wanted to create a memory card for her to mark this sad passing.
I could barely find anything to embellish it with
(with my studio virtually completely packed up)
but then it really didn't need that!
The image speaks for itself:
"Lasting Love" is the memory and feeling that remains
in the heart of one who has lost their most cherished mother!

This will be my last post until we move to our new
residence which will be at the end of
next week!
I'm hoping to return here as soon as I can establish
my new creative space so stay tuned!

Thank you all for continuing to visit me here and leaving
such kind comments. I can't thank you all enough.
Love and hugs to you all!

Hello dear Suzy
ReplyDeleteCharming card for a sad and sentimental "homage"
I hope that you'll feel well in your new home!
Hugs and kisses
Dearest Suzy, your card created for Suzette , as a heartfelt memory card, when her dear mother passed ,is truly saying it all. So sad she looks and so very beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteThe black pearly lace for sorrow, and the white and greenish lace and fabrics , for the love of life , and for loving memories ,to those left behind.
I know she loves your card, as she love you, dear friend.
Love from me, too, Suzy !! xxx
So very beautiful Suzy! It is a lovely tribute. I hope you are settling in ? or are you still moving? Either way I know it takes forever to get it done and settled again! Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely sentiment to send to your grieving friend. You are right, the picture says it all and no further embellishment is needed. Good luck with your move.

Suzy, what a most beautiful card for your friend.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, this did not need the embellishments. It's simplicity is it's beauty on it's own.
Best of luck on your move and looking forward to your new home photos~
much love,Jackie
Suzy, This card is so full of emotion - I love it. I drove to Oberon a couple of days ago to be with my Mum as she lost her first sibling to cancer. It was so good to join with family and friends not seen for years, to be sad together. I gave my Mum a little stone angel, and reminded her that the depth of our sadness is a reflection of the love we feel. Your card is so beautiful, so perfect. The neutral colours add to the emotional tone, too. The embelishments you did were all it needed.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you as you move house. Hope it all goes well and you enjoy nesting in your new home, and I do so look forward to visiting you again some time soon.
Hugs,
Jesse XX
A beautiful piece indeed Suzy and I'm sure your friend will appreciate it and the sentiment in her sad time.
ReplyDeleteand oh my haven't I missed some things in blogland lately! I haven't been getting around to visit for a while and have just seen that you are leaving your beloved home! Or you may have already gone from there by now, but it can certainly be exciting and inspirational to make these huge decisions and changes in our lives don't you think?
Hope to get back here soon to take in more scenes of your new life and creations! Many good wishes for a smooth transition. x
Such a beautiful card - I'm sure your friend will cherish it. Good luck with the move - hope all goes well and that you're soon settled into your new abode and happily creating again.
ReplyDeleteDear Suzy, (I'm finally spelling your name correctly!: )
ReplyDeleteI am not sure how this beautiful post slipped by me (must have been while I was OOT;) but I'm so glad I stopped in your blog.
Was wondering about you and how your move was coming along?
This card is a real treasure. So elegant and thoughtful for your friend in 'heart' crisis. The textures are all soothing and the dark textiles play off the lighter fabrics so beautifully. And I think the stitching adds a certain warmth. Beautiful, so beautiful Suzy! I always learn here~ Thanks and best wishes for settling in: ) Hugs, Karen O
