Layers of Journal Love
This page will probably be typical of the corresponding embellished page in my Fabric Art Journal. This allows for making notes straight onto the fabric in my handwriting. I have used one of my mother's hankerchiefs, some silk velvet in maroon with paisley printed over it, some butter muslin, lace and embroidered organza in green all over the top of a piece of gold brocade!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend!!

Another wonderful page to your book, love visiting your blog, so inspiring with all the beautiful colors, not often I work with many colors, but your pages has inspired me to make a small art quilt with strong colors. Have a nice weekend.

Anni that is wonderful! That is why blogging is so great - by sharing our work our minds become open to new possibilities. I am really looking forward to seeing how you make this little art quilt - good luck.

I love this page! Will you be using archival ink for your notes? I have had some inks bleed into fabric. Are you using something to ensure this doesn't happen on your beautiful page?
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be some journal when you are all finished, please do share it. Fall air here today, only 50F when we got up and a jacket for the walk. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteYour pages look like something I would find in an expensive magazine, like Victoria. I do not see anything better than your work, anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThank you Suz,Corrine and Judy for taking an interest in my journal. It is still a fair way off finishing but I will show it here when it is and thanks Suz re the archival ink info - I definitely will not be going down that road!

ReplyDeleteLove the journal pages...I'm just now diving into the 'vintage' look. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThese pages are so delicate and strong at the same time. I think that vintage items have that quality ... they must. And you have put every thing together with such thoughtfulness and caring. Beautiful!
Very best wishes,
Barbara
