Today I am joining in on Wen's party over at
for sharing our favourites
for
Simply Neutrals Tuesday.
This fabric collage I created as part of a swap with
another wonderful blogging friend, Lisa McIlvain, of www.tarnishedandtattered.blogspot.com
some time ago!
Lisa is a very talented mixed media artist that many of you may know.
So come and join me over at Wen's with some of your favourite
neutrals or creams or whites or greys or browns
or whatever takes your fancy.
Many thanks and love,
Suzy xox
Dear Suzy, this is simply stunning! Beautiful! I love that you added the whatsitcalled... that silver thingie :) hanging on the chain as an embellishment, all beautifully pimped up with the lace and pearl and beads and so on. It's gorgeously soft and romantic with a bit of drama. Thank you sweetie for joining the party again and for the shout out! Sending you big hugs, xxx (Back to watch the remaining videos of your workshop now...)
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous art piece that sweet Lisa will love, dear Suzy. The tin is wonderful addition to your beautiful layers of fabrics and laces. It's great that you both are doing a swap.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that all the ladies who had signed up for your class are happy that the day to start has arrived and that they all will enjoy it.
Your spring garden looks so lovely and the magnolia tree is just amazing.

Good morning dear Suzi! (or Good Evening there!) Just want you to know I 'binged watched' your entire video class yesterday. Oh my... I've made probably a dozen books, and I still learned SO MUCH from your videos. Plus, if felt like I was right there in your home, making all the pictures you've posted over the years, come to life.
ReplyDeleteI learned an amazing amount of techniques that I've never used before. The biggest one is the assembly of your collage. I've always started with the borders...and that's why my books have always looked so 'boxy' and have used up way too much of my lace trim stash. The second: now I don't know why I've always stuck with 'my way'... it's using good quality canvas paper to print the photos. I've always used fabric, and often have not been happy with one: the faded out look, and two: the way the lumpiness under the photo shows through on the photo.
I'm really excited to start incorporating some of your techniques into my work! FABMO, the place where I pick up so many up-cycled designer fabrics samples, is have a boutique the end of October. It will be my first time to set up a booth and sell my fiber arts. So... THANK YOU a million times dear one!
Sending you lots of love and hugs from the California Redwoods,
Chris
Your creations are like a romance novel... lovely to behold.
ReplyDeleteHi there Suzy~ I already miss the SN Tuesdays!
ReplyDeleteI thought I would stop by and 'reach back' into your blog a bit. This collage is stunning. You have such a fine eye for 'putting things together' to create such beautiful end results. I like how you've incorporated the metals here; and the black rose seems to set everything off so beautifully~ Have a nice week/week-end! ~Karen O
